Study the following information carefully and answer the question give...
Given Information:
- J lives on floor numbered four.
- Only two people live between J and O.
- Only one person lives between O and L.
- M lives immediately above Q.
- M lives on an even numbered floor.
- Only one person lives between Q and N.
- Only one person lives between M and K.
- K does not live on the topmost floor.

Solution:
- From the given information, we can create the following table to represent the positions of each person:

| Floor | Person |
|-------|--------|
| 1 | |
| 2 | |
| 3 | |
| 4 | J |
| 5 | |
| 6 | |
| 7 | |
| 8 | |

- From the given information, we know that only two people live between J and O. Therefore, O can either be on the 6th floor or the 2nd floor.
- If O is on the 6th floor, L must be on the 8th floor. This would mean that M is on the 7th floor, which is odd numbered. But we know that M lives on an even numbered floor. Therefore, O cannot be on the 6th floor.
- This means that O must be on the 2nd floor and L must be on the 4th floor.
- From the given information, we know that M lives immediately above Q. Therefore, Q must be on the 5th floor and M must be on the 6th floor.
- From the given information, we know that only one person lives between Q and N. Therefore, N must be on the 8th floor.
- From the given information, we know that only one person lives between M and K. Therefore, K must be on the 4th floor.
- From the given information, we know that K does not live on the topmost floor. Therefore, K must be on the 3rd floor.
- This leaves P to be on the 1st floor.

Answer:
- From the above deductions, we can conclude that M lives on the topmost floor, which is the 8th floor. Therefore, the correct answer is option D (M lives on topmost floor).

There are three possible cases. i will refer them as case a, case-b, case-c.

1st condition: j lives on 4th floor
2nd condition: only two people between j and o.
possible position of O are case-a: O on 1st
case-b:. O on 7th
3rd condition: one one person between O and L
case-a:. O on 1st and L on 3rd
case-b: O on 7 and L on 5th
4th condition: M immediately above Q and M on even floor. One more new case arises here let's say case-c.
case-a: M on 8th and Q on 7th.
Case-c: M on 6th and Q on 5th
case-b: M on 2nd and Q on 1st
5th condition: only one person between Q and N
case-a: Q on 7th and N on 5th.
Case-c: Q on 5th and N on 7th
case-b: Q on 1st and N on 3rd
6th condition: only one person between M and K
case-a: M on 8th and K on 6th
case-c: M on 6th and K on 8th
case-b: not possible as K needs to occupy 4th but J is already occupied there.
7th condition: K not on top floor
that will leave us with case-a where M lives on top floor.

i hope ur doubt is clear. please do comment if i did any mistake.
