reciprocal of the number=1/x,
it is given that the sum of the number and its reciprocal=48/11,
or, x+1/x=48/11,
x²+1/x=48/11,
11(x²+1)=48(x),
11x²+11=48x,
11x²-48x+11=0,
by quadratic formula we have a=11,b=-48,c=11,
x=-b±√b²-4ac/2a,
=-(-48)±√(-48)²-4(11)(11)/2(11),
=48±√2304-484/22,
=48±√1820/22,
=48±42.66/22,
x=48+42.66/22,or,x=48-42.66/22,
x=4.12,or,x=0.24
reciprocal of the number=1/x,
it is given that the sum of the number and its reciprocal=48/11,
