Tips for CBSE Class 10 Social Science Exam Preparation
- Breakdown into Parts: Social science is feared by the majority of pupils. Take one chapter at a time and break it down into manageable chunks. For example, if the chapter is 15 pages long, read 5 pages per day and memorise the key points before reading it out to yourself or a family member.
- What's important in different sections: In history, answers using dates can put a good impression on examiners. In geography use flowcharts to write answers or to make notes, Revise maps thoroughly and practice plotting them on blank maps. Maps would come from NCERT only don't refer to another source.
- Answer Writing: Writing answers in points and highlighting keywords is critical in this situation. You can practise answer writing by attempting Social Science Model Papers in EduRev.
- Understand more: Short summaries and videos as well as tests of the chapters which will help you to memorise and understand more. All this you will get in EduRev's Social Science Course.
- Practice: Practise a variety of questions based on the exam pattern and mark important questions and revise them many times. You can practise questions from EduRev platform by clicking on the links given.
- Make a calendar: Create a calendar of important historical dates, go through it frequently, and make sure you remember the dates. When it comes to history, the names of liberation fighters, rulers, and others should be revised regularly along with important historical dates.
- Memorisation techniques: When memorising lengthy answers, try to make connections between the events and ideas by asking yourself questions such as "what happened next?" and "why?". Instead of trying to remember entire paragraphs, try to condense the information into points and relate them to something familiar. Additionally, it is suggested to start with simpler questions and then address the longer ones towards the end.
- It’s also crucial to stick to the NCERT textbooks and cover all of the topics in the curriculum.
