Step 4: Add the hundreds. 1 hundred (carried) + 7 hundreds = 8 hundreds. Write 8 in the hundreds column.

So, 758 + 65 = 823

Thus, 261 + 592 = 853.

Question 11: In a public library, there are 249 books on English, 150 books on Mathematics and 498 books on Hindi. Find the total number of books in the library.

Number of books on English = 249
Number of books on Mathematics = 150
Number of books on Hindi = 498
Total number of books in the library = 249 + 150 + 498

Hence, the total number of books in the library = 897.
