CLAT Exam is the entrance exam for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 24 National Law Universities in India. CLAT Exam is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities and is used by affiliate universities and organizations for admissions and recruitment.

The Consortium of NLUs has signed MoUs with 24 National Law Universities and 61 public and private law colleges across the country to admit students based on their CLAT scores.
Generally, three types of participating institutes in India will accept CLAT Exam 2023 scores and admit students to UG and PG courses.

A total of 20 NLUs offer LLM programmes to candidates in different disciplines. Admission to NLUs under CLAT is conducted through CLAT PG entrance examination. Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) Patna and National Law University, Delhi conduct separate law entrance tests (AIELT) for LLM admission and do not comes under the CLAT NLU list.
