Broadly, there are a few things to bear in mind and abide by throughout the course of your preparation for JEE

JEE Main Physics Preparation Tips

  • Physics is all about concepts and logic and one must be able to solve numerical problems in less time. Practice is the key here.
  • Target easy Chapters first: Chapters like Units Measurements, Kinematics, WPE, Gravitaion, Mechanical Properties of Solids, KTG, Thermodynamics, Oscillations, waves Current Electricity, Alternating current, EM waves, wave optics, and all modern physics are easy to score and must be targetted first while preparing.
  • It is important to read the textbooks as sometimes Physics can appear tougher especially when the questions get more conceptual
  • Have a strong understanding of the concepts
  • Use a combination of resources, such as textbooks, online tutorials, and past exam papers. HC Verma, DC Pandey and NCERT and NCERT Exemplar Textbook
  • Take regular (weekly) chapter-wise tests and monthly mock tests to know your level and areas which require improvement.
  • It is a subject that is feared by a lot of JEE Main aspirants and most of them give up on physics very soon. Due to the same reason, it is really important to know the difficulty level and weightage of various topics. Check here, for the Topic wise weightage of Physics.

JEE Main Chemistry Preparation Tips

Chemistry is a subject that is generally ignored by JEE aspirants because it involves a lot of memorization. We recommend not to do so. Because if studied in the right manner, most of the concepts in chemistry are quite intuitive and logical and the questions can be done in no time.
Chemistry is divided into three units – Physical chemistry, Organic chemistry and Inorganic chemistry. And the questions require a balance of analytical and memorization skills.

  • For instance, questions in physical chemistry are purely analytical and require ones mathematical skill. Do it first thin while preparing for JEE Main Chemistry.
  • Inorganic chemistry has questions that require memorization and often take less than 30 seconds if you know the answer. It is mainly knowledge-based and hence it is suggested you read from a reliable source such as NCERT Book, make short notes or flash-cards, and revise regularly.
  • While organic chemistry has questions that often form a balance between the two. It is logical and conceptual. So frequent revision and regular practice in the form of tests becomes very crucial here. Practice organic chemistry by writing
