Prelims: Project Vindhyagiri, Project 17A Frigate

• Vindhyagiri is a Project 17A Frigate that the Honourable President of India will launch.
• The mountain range in Karnataka is the inspiration for Project Vindhyagiri’s name. The sixth of the Project 17A Frigates ships, it. 
• The Project 17 Class Frigates (Shivalik Class) were followed by these warships, which had platform management systems, better stealth features, and cutting-edge armaments and sensors. 
• Four ships by M/s MDL and three ships by M/s GRSE are now being built as part of Project 17A. 
• The Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau, the first organisation for all warship design efforts, created the Project 17A ships internally.

• The Union Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Electronics & IT met with students, entrepreneurs, and important people.
• He described the process that led to the historic Personal Data Protection Act during the session.
• An exceptional piece of legislation is the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
• This vision seeks to establish platform obligations as well as current and pertinent legislation that are customised to Indian circumstances.
• The 22-year-old Information Technology Act will be replaced with the future related law, known as the Digital India Act. 

India -UK Security Minister’s Meet

Prelims: UNCAC, UNODC

• A “bilateral” discussion between the security ministers of the UK and India took place concurrently with the G20 Ministerial discussion on Combating Corruption.
• He reiterated the UK’s offer that India, as a signatory to the UNCAC which addresses the bribery of foreign public officials (foreign bribery). 
• The United Nations Convention against Corruption(UNCAC) is adopted by the UN General Assembly.
• Its eligible members are all countries and regional economic organization having secretariat at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
