Shiv Srishti Theme Park

Context
Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the first phase of ‘Shiv Srishti’ theme park based on the life of Shivaji Maharaj in Pune.

Details

• The Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the first phase (out of the four phases) of ‘Shiv Srishti’ – a theme based park based on the life of Shivaji Maharaj on the historic day of Shiv Jayanti, February 19 in Pune, Maharashtra. 
• Addressing the gathering, Shri Amit Shah remembered Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for his contribution to the country, religion, Swaraj and Swabhasha. Shiv Shahir Babasaheb Purandare ji dedicated his whole life to compiling Shiv Charitra, so that brave stories of Shivaji Maharaj can reach the masses. Babasaheb collected the authorised documents of Shivaji Maharaj’s life and his works from all over the world and prepared the history of Shivaji for the new generation. 
• The Shivsrushti project (Rs 438 cr project) is one of the biggest and grandest historical theme parks coming up on a 21-acres plot, dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his life, the first phase of which is ready at Ambegaon in Pune district. It will feature chapters from the Chhatrapati’s life in various art forms, his legendary escape from the Agra Fort, which is now ranked among the world’s “greatest escapes”, using modern 3D technology.

National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO)

Context
NOTTO Scientific Dialogue 2023 was organised by the Union Ministry of Health and Family.

Details

• NOTTO Scientific Dialogue 2023 aimed to bring all the stakeholders under one roof to brainstorm ideas about best practices and innovations in the tissue and organ transplant field.
• The country has achieved more than 15,000 transplants in 2022 and there has been an annual increase of 27% in transplant numbers.
• In India, there are existing structures at various levels like NOTTO at national level, SOTTOs at state level and ROTTOs at regional level and it is important that all these organisations work as a well oiled machinery while performing their mandate.
• In India, there are 640+ medical hospitals and colleges however, transplant remains a specialised service to some hospitals only.The need is to expand the number of institutions where surgeries and transplants are undertaken. Also there is a need to identify high case load institutions and bring them under the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Programme (NOTP).

Sagar Parikrama

Context
Launch of Sagar Parikrama Phase Ⅲ from Hazari Port in Gujarat.

Details

• The Ministry of Fisheries kicked off its third phase of Sagar Parikrama  from Hazari Port in Surat, Gujarat. The Parikrama will cover the coastal belt of Maharashtra before concluding at Sasson Dock, Mumbai.
• Conceived as a revolutionary journey along the coastlines, Sagar Parikrama will cover the remaining coastal States/UTs – Goa, karnataka, tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep in the next 6-9 months
• Sagar Parikrama Phase Ⅰ was held in Gujarat – from Mandvi to Porbandar in March, 2022. Phase Ⅱ covered the distance from the coastline of Arabian Sea in Gujarat and Diu & Daman in September, 2022. 
• In India, the Blue Economy entails a vast ocean of economic opportunities that are equally important in generating and sustaining livelihoods. With a 8118-kilometre-long coastline, spanning nine coastal states, four union territories (UTs) – including two island UTs – 12 major and 200 minor ports, India’s blue economy supports 95% of the country’s business through transportation and contributes an estimated 4% to its GDP (GDP). 
• India is also the world’s third largest fish producer and second largest aquaculture fish producer. As a result, all sectors of the blue economy have the potential to employ a large workforce.

About Sagar Parikrama

• The main objectives of the Sagar Parikrama –
  • to transfer information of various fisheries related schemes and programs being implemented by the government.
  • Promote responsible fisheries. 
  • Protect marine ecosystems.
• It  focuses on sustainable balance between the utilisation of marine fisheries resources for food security of the nation and livelihoods of coastal fisher communities and the protection of marine ecosystems, and to bridge the gaps of fisher communities
• Several departments and organisations, including the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, and National Fisheries Development Board, take part in the event.
