Why it is important to cultivate the Right Attitude
in our lives?
Attitude defines life and life defines attitude. Dalai
Lama has said: If you cultivate the right attitude, your
enemies become spiritual teachers, offering
opportunities to develop tolerance, patience and
understanding.
Attitude significantly impacts our lives. High IQ and
logical thinking are ineffective without proper attitude.
Without it, we're like misdirected rockets missing their
targets. The right attitude empowers us.

Structure of Attitude
1

3
An attitude is made up of three
interconnected components:
cognitions, emotions, and
behaviors.
Attitude is a predisposition to
respond. "It's boring" implies
avoidance, while "I like my job"
suggests intention. People tend
to behave consistently with
their attitudes.
A change in one component of
an attitude structure might lead
to changes in the others
because an attitude structure is
dynamic, with each component
influ encing the others.
Cognitive Component
Our thoughts and beliefs about
the subject.
Emotional Component
How the object, person, issue or
event makes us feel.
Behavioural Component
How the attitude influences our
behaviours. There is a sub-
component viz. behavioural
predisposition.

Attitudes and Beliefs
Attitude
Attitude refers to feelings, beliefs and behavioral
tendencies toward people, groups, ideas or objects.
Attitudes contain positive and negative elements,
influence our actions, and form primarily from
underlying values and beliefs.
Beliefs
Beliefs develop through experiences, though we often
forget their origins. They shape our perception of
reality, affecting work quality and relationships. Beliefs
may be religious, cultural or moral, forming our identity
and guiding how we live.
