(ISA) 
  
 
The International Solar Alliance (ISA) became first 
international intergovernmental organization 
headquartered in India (Gurugram) on 
6
th
 December, 2017.  
 
ISA is part of India’s vision to provide clean and 
affordable energy to all.  
So far 74 countries have signed the Framework 
Agreement of the ISA. (Latest being Argentina, 
Saudi Arabia and Bolivia). 
 Out of these, 52 countries have ratified the same.

October, 2018 in India.

France, attended the Assembly. 
 
In the First Assembly inter-alia India’s resolution 
for amending the Framework Agreement of the 
ISA for opening up the ISA membership to all 
countries that are members of United Nations 
was adopted.

the COP22 at Marrakech on November 15, 2016. 
 
The International Solar Alliance (ISA) is a group 
of 121 solar resource-rich countries with 
headquarters in Gurugram, India. 
 The organisation aims to deploy over 1,000 
gigawatt of solar energy and mobilise more than 
USD 1,000 billion into solar power by 2030, 
according to the United Nations Framework 
Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
