It is very important to know the application process for the GATE Exam clearly.
The application process for GATE 2023 is no longer open for registration. Candidates cannot register in the GOAPS portal at this time. However, the registration process for GATE 2024 is expected to begin in August 2023. Stay updated by checking the official website for further information.

What are the steps to fill GATE Application Form 2024?

  • Go to the official website of GATE 2024.
  • Click on the registration link and provide your personal information such as name, email ID, mobile number, and address.
  • You will receive an enrollment ID and password via email and SMS after completing the registration process. Use these credentials to access the GOAPS portal.
  • Within the GOAPS portal, enter your educational qualifications, category, and exam center preferences.
  • Upload your photograph, signature, and other necessary documents in accordance with the specifications provided on the website.

    • For Engineering degree, candidates can provide course completion certificate/provisional certificate/8th semester mark sheet/7th-semester mark sheet/6th-semester mark sheet/Pre or final year mark sheet in case of integrated degree/AMIE and Completed one section/Provisional Certificate Letter.
    • For Science degree, candidates can provide course completion certificate/provisional certificate/4th semester mark sheet/3rd-semester mark sheet/2nd-semester mark sheet/1st-year mark sheet/Pre-final year mark sheet in case of integrated degree/Provisional Certificate Letter.
  • College address with PIN code.
  • Choice of GATE exam cities.
  • Scanned images of the candidate's signature and photograph in jpeg/jpg format, with a size ranging between 5-200 kb.
  • Scanned copy of Category/PwD Certificate (if applicable) in pdf format, with a size ranging between 10-300 kb.
  • ID proof, such as Passport/PAN Card/Voter ID/Aadhaar UID/Driving License/College ID/Employee ID card.

  • For 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
  • Likewise, for 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
  • There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ and NAT questions.
