SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2025 for Tier 1 and Tier 2 (Revised) PDF Download

If you are preparing for the SSC CGL 2025 Exam, you must be aware that as per the New Scheme of Examination the latest exam pattern changes. SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2025

As per the revised exam pattern, the Staff Selection Commission of India will be conducting SSC CGL 2025 Exam in two stages: Tier-1 and Tier-2. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be compulsory for all candidates. For SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam, there will be Paper 1, 2, and 3, whereas Paper I is Compulsory for all posts, Paper II is for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper III is for candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer. Candidates must note that the SSC CGL Tier 1 is qualifying in nature and Tier 2 is scoring in nature. The marks scored in SSC CGL Tier 2 will be considered for final selection for the vacancies announced through the SSC CGL 2025 Exam.

SSC CGL 2025 Tier 1 Exam Pattern

The SSC CGL 2025 Tier-1 test will be held online, consisting of four sections and featuring 100 multiple-choice questions in total for a maximum score of 200 points. Candidates must complete the entire exam within a 60-minute time frame. The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam is qualifying in nature, and the marks will not contribute to the final selection.

The sections included in the SSC CGL Tier-I Exam are:

• General Intelligence & Reasoning
• General Awareness
• Quantitative Aptitude
• English Comprehension

In Tier-I, there will be a negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.

SSC CGL 2025 Tier 2  Exam Pattern

The SSC CGL Tier-2 exam will take place in 3 stages - Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Paper I is mandatory for all positions, Paper II is for applicants seeking the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) role in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, and Paper III is for those applying for Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer positions.

What is the Marking Scheme for SSC CGL 2025?

It is vital for candidates to be familiar with the negative marking system in the SSC CGL exam, as incorrect answers will result in deductions from their overall score. The negative marking for each tier of the exam can be found below.

Marking Scheme for SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam

The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam includes negative marking, where 2 marks are awarded for each correct answer, and 0.50 marks are deducted for each incorrect answer.
