Syllabus for UP TET Exam:The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) is conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) to select eligible candidates for the posts of teachers in primary and upper primary schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The syllabus for UP TET Exam is as follows:
1. Child Development and Pedagogy:This section aims to assess the understanding of the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
Topics:
- Child Development: Concept of development and its relationship with learning; Principles of child development; Influence of heredity and environment; Socialization processes; Piaget, Kohlberg and Vygotsky: constructs and critical perspectives.
- Concept of Inclusive Education and Understanding Children with Special Needs: Addressing learners from diverse backgrounds; Addressing the needs of children with learning difficulties, impairment, etc.
- Learning and Pedagogy: How children think and learn; How and why children fail to achieve success in school performance; Basic processes of teaching and learning; Factors affecting learning; Strategies for enhancing learning.
Marks Weightage:- Child Development: 15 marks
- Concept of Inclusive Education and Understanding Children with Special Needs: 5 marks
- Learning and Pedagogy: 10 marks
2. Language (Hindi and English):This section evaluates the proficiency of candidates in Hindi and English languages and their comprehension, grammar, and usage skills.
Topics:
- Language Comprehension: Reading unseen passages - two passages, one each in Hindi and English, with questions on comprehension, grammar, and verbal ability.
- Pedagogy of Language Development: Learning and acquisition; Principles of language teaching; Role of listening and speaking; Challenges of teaching language in a diverse classroom.
Marks Weightage:- Language Comprehension: 15 marks
- Pedagogy of Language Development: 15 marks
3. Mathematics:This section assesses the mathematical concepts and problem-solving abilities of the candidates.
Topics:
- Content: Numbers, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Data Handling, and Pedagogical issues.
- Pedagogical Issues: Nature of Mathematics, Place of Mathematics in the Curriculum, Evaluation through formal and informal methods, Error analysis and related aspects of learning and teaching.
Marks Weightage:- Content: 20 marks
- Pedagogical Issues: 10 marks
4. Environmental Studies:This section evaluates the candidates' understanding of concepts related to environmental studies and their ability to apply them in real-life situations.
Topics:
- Content: Family and Friends, Food, Shelter, Water, Travel, Things We Make and Do, and Pedagogical issues.
- Pedagogical Issues: Nature of Environmental Studies, Concept and Scope of EVS, Learning Principles, Approaches to presenting concepts, and Evaluation in EVS.
