firstly the food enters in our mouth which mix with the saliva present in our mouth.the saliva contains salivary amylase which converts the starch present in food in mouth to give sugar.now this food is moved around the mouth while chewing by the muscular tongue. And now the food is sent to stomach by long tube ,whose muscles contract rhythmically in order to push the food
Now ,the food enters the stomach, which is a large organ ,that expands when food enters it,then the muscles of the stomach contain gastric glands which releases hydrochloric acid which creates an acidic medium for the action of enzyme pepsin .it also releases pepsin and mucus ,which protect the lining of stomach from acid.
Then the spincter muscle releases it in small amount into small intestine ,which is longest part of alimentry canal. The small intestine recieves the secretions of liver and pancreas for this purpose.Since food coming from stomach contain large globules of fat which makes difficult for enzyme to act on them.So.bile juice from liver accomplishes this in addition.Bile salt break large globules of fat into small globules,it is same as emulsifying action.
And now the pancreatic juice released by pancreas which contain enzyme like trypsin for digesting protiens ,lipase for breaking emulsified fats. The walls of small intestine contains glands secrete intestinal juice which finally converts protiens into amino acid, carbohydrates into glucose and fat into fatty acid and glycerol.
Now, the inner linig of small intestine has numerous finger like projections called villi, which the surface area for absorption.villi are richly supplied with blood vesselswhich take the absorbed food to each and every cell for growth of body and repair of cells,
Now the rest of the unabsorbed food is sent to large intestine for absroption of more water
and after that the rest of the foof is moved out through anal spintcher.which is the process of egestion
