This poem describes the devastating effects of both fire and ice in such a manner that it can destroy the whole world....The poet in the first stanza depicts that the world will end with fire as he has seen so much desires of the people that in order to fulfill their dreams and desires, people can go to any extent and can even kill a person... This will threaten the very existence of human life which is enough for destroying the whole world. In the second stanza the poet expresses that if the world has to perish for the second time, then he has also seen enough hatred among the people that can destroy the world. The aspects of ice such as hatred and intolerance among the people can slowly poison the whole world. So both Fire and ice has a devastating effect on the existence of this world....
