¶¶ for a given pair of media the ratio of angle of incidence and angle of refraction in terms of sin is always constant.
this is what we call snell's law and the constant is known as refractive index...!

According to SNAIL'S LAW,,:- The ratio of sine of angle of incident to the Sine of angle of reflection is constant for a given pair of a medium...( e. g air and water) ..
sine of angle of incident / sine of angle of refraction = constant
i.e
sin i / sin r = constant.
this constant is called REFRAVTIVE INDEX
