this is what we call snell's law and the constant is known as refractive index...!

According to SNAIL'S LAW,,:- The ratio of sine of angle of incident to the Sine of angle of reflection is constant for a given pair of a medium...( e. g air and water) ..

sine of angle of incident / sine of angle of refraction = constant

i.e

sin i / sin r = constant.

this constant is called REFRAVTIVE INDEX
