Let the ages of two boys be x and y respectively.
x/y= 5/7
=> x= 5y/7
Now 8 years ago ratio was 7:13.
(x-8)/(y-8)=7/13
=> 13(x-8)=7(y-8)
=> 13x-104=7y-56
=> 13{5*y/7}=7y+48
=> 65y= 49y+336
=> 16y=336
=> y=336/16
=> y=21
Therefore,
x=5*21/7
x= 15
Current Ages of two boys are 15 and 21 respectively.
That's all 🙂

Now 8 years ago ratio was 7:13.
(x-8)/(y-8)=7/13
=> 13(x-8)=7(y-8)
=> 13x-104=7y-56
=> 13{5*y/7}=7y+48

=> y=21
Therefore,
x=5*21/7
x= 15
