3 + 4 + 1 + 4 + 8 = n

Here, 3 represents the three students ahead of A, 4 represents the four students between A and C, 1 represents C, 4 represents the four students between C and B, and 8 represents the eight students behind B.

Simplifying the equation, we get:

First search the position of C from both side.
Position of C from left= Position of A from left +Position of C from A (since position of c is given from A)
=4+9 =13th
Position of C from last or right= Position of B +Position of C from B(since C is is sitting in the middle of A and B the position will be 9th i. e. given)
=9+9 =18th
Now,
Total no. of students=(position of c from both side) -1
=(13+18) -1 = 31 -1 =30
So, there are 30 students in all. And the correct answer is option D.
