Ladakh in India is the cold desert that lies in the Great Himalayas on the Eastern side of Jammu and Kashmir. It is also known as Khapa Chan, which means land of snow. 

The Ladakh has no major peaks. Its average height is a little less than 6000 m (20000 ft), and a few of its passes are less than 5000 m(16000 ft). The Pangong range runs parallel to the Ladakh range  for about 100 km Northwest from Chulshul along the Southern shore of the Pangong lake.The region comprising the valley of the Shayok and Nubra rivers is known as Nubra. The Karakoram range in Ladakh is not as mighty as in Baltistan.

4. Saltoro Range: This range is located in the northwestern part of the Ladakh region and is known for its glaciers and snow-covered peaks.

These ranges, along with the high-altitude desert environment, make the Ladakh region a unique and fascinating geographical area in India.
