The entry fee in an exhibition was Rs 10. Later this was reduced by 25...
Given:
Entry fee = Rs 10
Reduction in entry fee = 25%
Increase in sale of tickets = 20%

To find: Percentage increase in the number of visitors

Solution:
Let the number of visitors before the reduction in entry fee be x.
Then, the revenue generated before the reduction in entry fee = 10x

After the reduction in entry fee by 25%, the new entry fee = 10 - (25/100) x 10 = Rs 7.5
And the revenue generated after the reduction in entry fee = 7.5 * 1.2x = 9x

The revenue generated after the reduction in entry fee is equal to the revenue generated before the reduction in entry fee. Therefore,

9x = 10x
x = 90

Hence, the number of visitors before the reduction in entry fee was 90.

After the reduction in entry fee, the number of visitors increased by 20%. Therefore, the new number of visitors = 90 * (1 + 20/100) = 108

The percentage increase in the number of visitors = [(108 - 90)/90] * 100% = 20%

Therefore, the percentage increase in the number of visitors is 20%. Answer: Option C.
