Which of the following are matters on which a constitutional amendment...
Art. 368 provides the procedure for amendment of the Constitution. All constitutional amendment bills have to be passed in each House (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) by a majority of the total membership of that House and by a majority of not less than two-thirds of the members of that House present and voting. In addition to this, there are a few provisions mentioned in the said article, the amendment of which requires ratification of not less than one-half of the states. These provisions are related to the federal character of the Constitution.
The Seventh Schedule provides three lists i.e. the Union List, the State List and the Concurrent List. The Union List consists of those subjects on which the Parliament has exclusive power to make laws; States have exclusive power to make laws on the subjects provided in the State list and the Concurrent List consists of those subjects on which both the Union and the States have concurrent powers to make laws. However in case of any conflict on Concurrent list subject, Union law prevails.

Which of the following are matters on which a constitutional amendment...
Explanation:

1. Election of the President:
- According to the Indian Constitution, the election of the President can only be amended with the ratification of the legislatures of not less than one-half of the states. This is mentioned in Article 368 of the Constitution.
2. Representation of the States in Parliament:
- The representation of states in Parliament is a crucial aspect that requires the ratification of at least half of the states' legislatures for any constitutional amendment. This ensures that the states have a say in matters affecting their representation in the highest legislative body.
3. Any of the Lists in the 7th schedule:
- The 7th Schedule of the Indian Constitution contains three lists - Union List, State List, and Concurrent List. Any amendment related to these lists requires the ratification of not less than one-half of the states' legislatures. This ensures a balance of power between the Union and the states.
Therefore, matters such as the election of the President, representation of states in Parliament, and any changes to the lists in the 7th Schedule can only be amended with the ratification of the legislatures of not less than one-half of the states. This ensures that the federal structure of the Indian Constitution is maintained and that states have a significant role in the amendment process.
