After celebrating dost independence day in Britain India , on 31 January 1930 ,
Gandhi ji sent Irwin letter stating 11 demands and it contains the concern of all groups in Indian society . But most important demand was abolishment tax in salt . Gandhi ji also gave ultimatum .
if there demands were not fulfilled till 11 march then he will start civil disobedience movement.
as Irwin did not accepted this demands so Gandhi ji started salt march from sabarmati to dandi with his 78 volunteers . and on 6 April they reached dandi and start boiling sea water and making salt which was against British law . this is also known as starting of civil disobedience movement.
