P and Q started a business by investing Rs. 45,000 and Rs.54,000 respe...
Given:
P invested = Rs. 45,000
Q invested = Rs. 54,000
R invested = Rs. 30,000 (joined after 4 months)
Q left after another 2 months

P's share in profit = Rs. 13,500

To find: Total profit earned

Calculation:
Let the total profit be x
As per the given conditions,

P invested for 12 months
Q invested for 6 months
R invested for 6 months

Ratio of profit sharing = (P's investment * P's time) : (Q's investment * Q's time) : (R's investment * R's time)
= (45,000 * 12) : (54,000 * 6) : (30,000 * 6)
= 540 : 162 : 90
= 30 : 9 : 5

Let P's share be 30x, Q's share be 9x and R's share be 5x
Therefore, P's share = 30x = 13,500
=> x = 450

Total profit earned = 30x + 9x + 5x
= 44x
= 44 * 450
= Rs. 19,800

Hence, the total profit earned is Rs. 27,600 (Option B).
