A and B entered into a partnership, investing Rs. 18000 and Rs. 15000 ...
A withdrew Rs. 6000 and B withdrew Rs. 4500. If they gain a profit of Rs. 9600 at the end of the year, what will be A's share in it?

Let the total profit be divided into two parts: A's share and B's share.

Total investment = Rs. 18000 + Rs. 15000 = Rs. 33000

A's investment for the full year = Rs. 18000

B's investment for the full year = Rs. 15000

A's investment for 4 months = Rs. 18000

B's investment for 4 months = Rs. 15000

A's investment remaining for 8 months = Rs. 18000 - Rs. 6000 = Rs. 12000

B's investment remaining for 8 months = Rs. 15000 - Rs. 4500 = Rs. 10500

Now, considering the time periods and investments, we can write:

A's share : B's share = (12 months * 18000) + (8 months * 12000) : (12 months * 15000) + (8 months * 10500)

A's share : B's share = (216000 + 96000) : (180000 + 84000)

A's share : B's share = 312000 : 264000

A's share : B's share = 5 : 4

Total profit = Rs. 9600

A's share = (5/9) * 9600 = Rs. 5333.33 (rounded off to nearest paisa)

Therefore, A's share in the profit is Rs. 5333.33.
