According to me  the FOUR main causes of World War I is to remember the acronym M – A – I – N. (M = Militarism, A = Alliances, I = Imperialism, and N = Nationalism.) MILITARISM was one of the four major causes of the war. It was an “arms race.” Because Britain had a large navy, Germany wanted a large navy too.As war expenditure increased the British increased taxes in India. This had a negative impact on the Indian economy. Prices of essential goods increased,there was shortage of food, inflation and unemployment reached unprecedented levels
