Like humans and animals such plants depend on the food produced by other plants, they use the mode of heterotrophic nutrition.
Eg: IF WE WATCH WE COULD SEE A YELLOW WIRY BRANCHED STRUCTURE TWINING AROUND THE STEM AND BRANCHES OF A TREE, THIS PLANT IS CALLED CUSCUTTA, THEY DO NOT HAVE CHLOROPHYLL THEY TAKE FOOD FROM THE PLANT WHICH IT CLIMB AND THE PLANT IN WHICH IT CLIMB IS CALLED HOST.
SO CUSCUTTA IS A PARASITE.
