You have a sister at home and she is not allowed to study and is made to do household work because your parents have a mentality that teaching a girl is only a waste of money and time and at the end she has to get married and do the household works only . So this was the gender division in private.
In public women are paid less than men because according to the society men are more smarter or we say they are more capable of doing things , that is the reason why in many places men gets promoted to a higher level but women don't.
