The maximum time will be taken when the two insects start from the two ends of the rope towards each other and meet in the middle. Time taken by each insect = 250/125 = 2 minutes
After their collision at the middle they will reverse their direction and reach their respective ends in another 2 minutes.
Hence, the time in which the rope will definitely be free of any insects = 2 + 2 = 4 minutes
