Suman cuts a sheet of paper into three pieces. Length of first piece i...
Let the length of third piece be 'x'

According to the conditions,

First piece length= (3+5+7/3)=> 5units
Second piece length= 5+(1/2)x
Third piece length. = x

Answer is 40 units. So, sum of all three lengths is 40.
5+{5+(1/2)x}+x = 40
Taking LCM we get,
(20+2x+x)/2 = 40
20+3x = 80
3x = 60
x = 20 units(third piece)
Second piece= 5+20/2 => 15 units.

The only three single digit odd prime numbers are 3, 5 and 7.
So the length of first piece = (3 + 5 + 7)/3=5. Now let the length of second piece = x units
Then by the condition given in question we have: - Length of third piece = x + 5. Length of second piece = x = 5 + (x +5)/2.
From that we get x = 15. So, the length of first piece is 5, second is 15 and third's length is 20.
Original length (5 + 15 +20) = 40 units
