In aid of charity, every soldier in a battalion contributes as many ru...
Solution:

Let the number of soldiers in the battalion be x.

According to the question, each soldier contributes x rupees.

So, the total collection without the additional contribution is given by:
Total collection = x*x = x^2 rupees

Now, with the additional contribution of Rs. 50 by one soldier, the total collection becomes:
x^2 + 50 = 251051

Solving the above equation, we get:
x^2 = 251001
x = √251001

x ≈ 501

Therefore, there are 501 soldiers in the battalion.
