The dictionary meaning of the process of deindustrialization is "the reduction or destruction of a nation's industrial capacity".And the process of industrialization lead to deindustrialization in india in the following way-
The industry which was badly affected by the process of industrialization in Britain was the cotton textile industry
it was the largest provider of employment after agriculture .
India's cotton goods were the best before 1800.
But the machine made textile goods of Britain did a great damage to the Indian cotton textile industry of India since 1750. And the export of machine made textile goods was dominated in india which lead to a scale of unemployment in India and also lead to a great fall in the wages of the weavers and spinners. Many others industries were also affected by this.
and due to the unemployment and low wages and much and more import from Britain and the competition between the machine made goods and handicrafts goods of India,
India's handicrafts industries were shut down
and it lead to deindustrialization in India
