Yes My Friend , offcourse Yes

When coal is burned the sulfur combines with oxygen and the sulfur oxides are released to the atmosphere. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) becomes sulfur trioxide (SO3) when reacting with oxygen in the air. This reacts with water molecules in the atmosphere to form sulfuric acid, a strong mineral acid. This makes rain acidic.

When Acid rain occurs it damages building, monuments and all ! If u don't believe,go and visit Taj Mahal and see it's color,it is slowly slowly turning yellowish, due to acid rain ! Acidd usually have corrosive nature ! Taj Mahal'd Marble has been being damaged due to acid rain continuously! We need to take actions to save the Cultural heritage of India and world
