What is the difference between resistivity and resistance?
*Resistance (R) :- It is the ratio of potential difference V between the end of the conductor to the current in the conductor i. ie, R = (V/i).
*Resistivity (p) :- The ratio of intensity of electric field ‘E' at any point in the conductor to the current density ‘j' at that point. ie, p = ( E/j ).
*Resistance is the obstruction offered to the flow of current by a conductor.
Resistivity is the obstruction offered to the flow of current by UNIT AREA OF the conductor.
