Problem Statement:

Two places A and B are at a certain distance. Ramu started from A towards B at a speed of 40 kmph. After 2 hours Raju started from B towards A at a speed of 60 kmph. If they meet at a place C then ratio of ratio of time taken by Raju to Ramu to reach Place C is 2:3. Then what is the distance between A and B?

Solution:

Let the distance between A and B be 'd' km. Let the time taken by Ramu to reach C be 't' hours. Then, the time taken by Raju to reach C is (2/3)t hours (as per the given ratio).

Calculating the distance:

Distance travelled by Ramu in 't' hours = 40t km

Distance travelled by Raju in (2/3)t hours = 60((2/3)t) = 40t km

Therefore, the distance between A and C = Distance travelled by Ramu + Distance travelled by Raju = 80t km

Also, the distance between B and C = Distance between A and B - Distance between A and C = d - 80t km

Since they meet at point C, the sum of distances travelled by Ramu and Raju is equal to the distance between A and B:

40t + 40t = d - 80t

80t = d/2

Substituting this value in the expression for distance between A and C:

Distance between A and C = 80t = d/2

Therefore, the distance between A and B is d = 160t km.

Answer: The distance between A and B is 160t km.
