Sperical mirrors are of two types. One is Concave and Convex. As per the Sign convention of the Sperical mirror, For the Concave mirror, the focal length will be -ve as the objects are always kept at the left of the mirror, the images will be formed at the left side of the mirror. And for the Convex mirror, the images will be formed at the right side of the mirror. Due to the Virtual and erect images formed by the Convex mirror in the right side of the mirror, the focal length will be -ve.
