Answer the following question based on the information given below.

The Amazon Car Manufacturing company has four departments - Production, Quality, Sales and Finance - with the number of employees in these departments at the start of 2000 being 150, 110, 105 and 135 respectively. To promote a healthy working culture, the top management of the company has proposed to employ a job rotation technique whereby the employees are transferred to some other department from their existing department based on a screening test as per the requirements of the individual departments. The transfers take place only at the end of the year. Moreover the transfers happen in such a way that employees who are transferred from one department to a new department are given a priority while considering the transfer from that new department to some other department. Also, for any department, a transfer means that either a person/s from this department goes to another department or a person/s from another department shifts to this department, but the inflow and outflow from any department cannot occur together. Solution: 
The people in the Sales department in 2003 means the same thing as the people in the Sales department at the end of 2002.
The number of people in each department at the end of each year and the movement in each department at the end of each year can be tabulated as shown above.
As can be seen from the table, at the end of 2000, 40 employees from Production and 20 from Quality had been transferred out whereas the inflow in Finance and Sales from other departments was 35 and 25 respectively.
Since the objective is to minimise the number of employees who are part of the Sales department at the end of 2002, we need to transfer employees from as few departments as possible into Sales.
Therefore, consider that all 25 employees that came into Sales were from the Production department. Thus, at the end of 2000, the Sales department had employees from the Sales department as well as from the Production Department.
At the end of 2001,30 people were transferred out of the Sales department. 
Since employees who have been transferred into a new department earlier have a priority while being transferred out of that new department, all 25 people who came in from the Production department will be transferred out at the end of 2001. The remaining 5 people going out will be from the original Sales department.
Thus, at the end of 2001, all 100 people in the Sales department will be from the original Sales department itself.
At the end of 2002, 50 people move into the Sales department while 20 and 30 people respectively move out of the Quality and Finance department. There is no change in the strength of the Production department. This means that the 50 people moving into the Sales department are from Quality and Finance. Therefore, at the end of 2002 (or in 2003), there are 100, 20 and 30 people respectively from the Sales, Quality and Finance departments and working in the Sales department.
Hence, there are people from atleast 3 departments working in Sales in 2003.
Hence, option 3.
