Natural Ecosystems

An ecosystem is a community of living organisms in conjunction with the nonliving components of their environment, interacting as a system. Natural ecosystems are those that occur naturally without human intervention. Let us look at some examples of natural ecosystems:

Desert
A desert is an ecosystem that has a very low amount of rainfall and is characterized by its aridity. Deserts are known for their hot and dry climate, extreme temperatures, and lack of vegetation.

Forest
Forests are ecosystems that are dominated by trees and other woody vegetation. They are characterized by their high levels of biodiversity, with a wide variety of plant and animal species.

Wetlands
Wetlands are ecosystems that are characterized by their high levels of water saturation. They include marshes, swamps, and bogs. Wetlands are important habitats for many species of birds, fish, and other animals.

Grasslands
