A convex lens of focal length 24 cm is placed 12 cm in front of a convex mirror. It is found that when a pin is placed 36 cm in front of the lens, it coincides with its own inverted image formed by, the lens and the mirror. Then the focal length of the mirror is (a) 45 cm (b) 60 cm (c) 15cm (d) 30cm? Plz explain the ans with correct process?

Given:
Focal length of convex lens, f1 = 24 cm
Distance of convex lens from convex mirror, d = 12 cm
Distance of object from convex lens, u = 36 cm
To find: Focal length of convex mirror, f2

Using lens formula,
1/f1 = 1/u + 1/v1 where v1 is the image distance from the lens
Putting the values, we get
1/24 = 1/36 + 1/v1
v1 = 72 cm

Now, using mirror formula,
1/f2 = 1/v1 + 1/d where v1 is the object distance from the convex mirror
Putting the values, we get
1/f2 = 1/72 + 1/12
1/f2 = (1/72 + 1/12) / 1
1/f2 = 1/45
f2 = 45 cm

Therefore, the focal length of the convex mirror is 45 cm.
