Sometimes the chemicals released are actually very dangerous they might die the  aquatic animals.. Also in some places people still uses river water for their household work.. Industrial waste should not dump in river water or also in any open area..bcoz it contain toxic chemicals ...so it is better to dump it in the waste land far away from residents or any water bodies..
