Arrangement of ear ossicles, starting from ear drum is :-a)Stapes, mal...
The ear ossicles are three bones present in middle ear, they are among the smallest bones in the human body. They serve to transmit sounds from the air to the fluid-filled labyrinth (cochlea).

Arrangement of ear ossicles, starting from ear drum is the malleus, incus, and stapes, shapes resembles of the hammer, anvil, and stirrup respectively.

As sound waves vibrate the tympanic membrane (eardrum), it in turn moves the nearest ossicle, the malleus, to which it is attached. The malleus then transmits the vibrations, via the incus, to the stapes, and so ultimately to the membrane of the fenestra ovalis, the opening to the vestibule of the inner ear. Hence option B is correct.

Arrangement of Ear Ossicles

The correct arrangement of the ear ossicles, starting from the eardrum, is Malleus, Incus, Stapes.

Explanation:

The ear ossicles are a chain of three small bones located in the middle ear. They play a crucial role in the transmission of sound vibrations from the outer ear to the inner ear. The correct arrangement of these ossicles ensures efficient sound conduction.

Malleus (Hammer):
- The malleus is the outermost bone in the chain of ossicles.
- It is attached to the eardrum (tympanic membrane) and receives sound vibrations from it.
- The malleus is shaped like a hammer, with a long handle (manubrium) attached to the eardrum and a head (caput) that articulates with the incus.

Incus (Anvil):
- The incus is the middle bone in the chain of ossicles.
- It receives vibrations from the malleus and transmits them to the stapes.
- The incus has a long process (long crus) that articulates with the malleus and a short process (short crus) that articulates with the stapes.

Stapes (Stirrup):
- The stapes is the innermost bone in the chain of ossicles.
- It receives vibrations from the incus and transmits them to the inner ear.
- The stapes is shaped like a stirrup, with a footplate (base) that rests on the oval window of the cochlea and a head (caput) that articulates with the incus.

Function of the Ossicles:
- The eardrum vibrates in response to sound waves, which are collected by the outer ear and funneled into the ear canal.
- These vibrations are then transmitted to the malleus, which amplifies and transfers them to the incus.
- The incus further amplifies the vibrations and transmits them to the stapes.
- Finally, the stapes transfers the sound vibrations to the fluid-filled cochlea of the inner ear, where they are converted into electrical signals and sent to the brain for interpretation.

Conclusion:
The correct arrangement of the ear ossicles, starting from the eardrum, is Malleus, Incus, Stapes. This arrangement ensures efficient transmission of sound vibrations from the outer ear to the inner ear, allowing us to hear and perceive sound.
