Advection is responsible for the movement of local winds in Northern India known as Loo.

Explanation:

Advection is the process of transfer of heat or any other property by the horizontal movement of air or fluid. In Northern India, during the summer season, the land becomes extremely hot due to high insolation. The hot air over the land rises and creates a low-pressure area. The cooler air from the sea flows towards the land to fill this low-pressure area. This process of horizontal movement of air from sea to land is known as advection. The air that flows from sea to land is known as sea breeze. The air that flows from land to sea is known as land breeze.

During the day, the hot and dry winds blow from the northwest direction over Northern India, which is known as Loo. Loo is a local wind that blows over the Indo-Gangetic Plain and the Thar Desert region. It is a result of the advection of hot and dry air from the Thar Desert towards the Indo-Gangetic Plain. The hot and dry air causes high temperatures, low humidity, and dusty conditions in the region. Loo wind can cause heat strokes, dehydration, and other health hazards.

In conclusion, advection is responsible for the movement of local winds in Northern India known as Loo.
