Sikkim, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli were all foreign territories before they were acquired by India. Sikkim was an independent kingdom until it joined India as a state in 1975. Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli were both Portuguese territories until they were annexed by India in 1961. Nagaland, on the other hand, was not a foreign territory. It was a part of British India before independence and has been a state of India since 1963.

1. Sikkim:
- Sikkim was an independent kingdom before it merged with India in 1975.
- It was a protectorate of India from 1950 until its merger.

- As a result, Sikkim became the 22nd state of India.

2. Daman and Diu:
- Daman and Diu were part of Portuguese India until their acquisition by India in 1961.
