Let AB=1 A of field current. Corresponding to this current the open circuit voltage is 100 V. Draw BC perpendicular to AB of value 100 V. Then AC gives the linear part of occ. On the line AC locate the point D such thatDF= leakage reactance drop =25 V
By similar triangle property in triangles ABC and
AF = (1/4) AB = 1/4 of field current and supplies the leakage reactance drop.
