What will be the marking scheme of the CBSE 2023 Class 10 science exam?

The final exam will be of total 80 marks and there will be an internal assessment of 20 marks.
The marking scheme for the CBSE class 10 Science exam is as follows:
1. 20 Objective type questions - 1 mark
2. 6 Very Short Answer (VSA) questions  - 2 marks
3. 7 Short Answer (SA) - 3 marks
4. 3 Long Answer (LA) - 5 marks
5. 3 Source based/Case based - 4 marks
The internal assessment is divided into 3 parts as follows:
Periodic Assessment - 05 marks (average of best 2 periodic tests out of 3 tests) + 05 marks (Diverse methods of assessment such as short tests, oral tests, quizzes etc)
Subject Enrichment (Practical Work) - 05 marks
Portfolio - 05 mark

II. Practical Exam:

1. Practical Record Book:
- Weightage: 5 marks
- Assessment of practical record book including experiments, activities, observations, and inferences.

2. Lab Practical:
- Weightage: 5 marks
- Performance in the laboratory while conducting experiments, handling apparatus, and recording observations.

3. Viva Voce:
- Weightage: 5 marks
- Oral questioning to assess conceptual understanding, reasoning, and in-depth knowledge related to practical experiments.

4. Project Work:
- Weightage: 5 marks
- Assessment of project work, including presentation, creativity, research, and understanding of scientific concepts.

III. Internal Assessment:
The internal assessment carries a weightage of 20 marks. It includes activities such as practical work, projects, assignments, group discussions, and class participation.

IV. Overall Evaluation:
