Introduction:
Dr. Herriot, a fictional character from James Herriot's books, is a veterinarian who treats both animals and their owners. However, there may be instances where Dr. Herriot focuses more on treating the owner rather than the dog itself. In this response, we will analyze whether we agree with the statement that Dr. Herriot did not treat the dog but the owner.

Agreeing with the Statement:
There are several reasons to agree with the statement that Dr. Herriot primarily treated the owner rather than the dog.

1. Psychological Support:
One of the key aspects of Dr. Herriot's approach is providing psychological support to the owners. He often listens to their concerns, offers reassurance, and empathizes with their emotions. By addressing the owner's anxieties and fears, Dr. Herriot indirectly helps the dog as well.

2. Education and Guidance:
Dr. Herriot takes the time to educate and guide the owners about their pet's health and well-being. He explains the necessary treatments, preventive measures, and general care instructions. By empowering the owners with knowledge, he ensures that they can take better care of their dogs in the future. This approach benefits both the owner and the dog.

3. Emotional Connection:
Dr. Herriot develops a strong emotional connection with the owners, which helps in building trust and rapport. This emotional bond allows the owners to confide in him and share their concerns openly. By addressing the emotional needs of the owners, Dr. Herriot indirectly improves the overall well-being of the dog.

4. Holistic Approach:
In many cases, Dr. Herriot considers the overall environment and lifestyle of the dog, rather than just focusing on the specific medical condition. He understands that the well-being of a dog is influenced by various factors, including the owner's behavior, living conditions, and diet. By addressing these aspects, he ensures that the dog receives comprehensive care.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, while Dr. Herriot is a veterinarian who primarily treats animals, there are instances where he focuses more on treating the owner. By providing psychological support, education, emotional connection, and a holistic approach, Dr. Herriot indirectly improves the well-being of the dog. Therefore, I agree with the statement that Dr. Herriot did not just treat the dog but also focused on treating the owner.

Yes I do agree with the statement. Mrs.Pruphery had a dog 'Tricki' she loved him so much and use to feed him. She use to give treats to him with lot of fats and wine .
This cause him being lazy and sleep all day long. Mrs.Pruphery became concered about her dog and asked Dr.Herriot to treat her dog .
Dr .Herriot took tricki to his clinic were othe r dogs were there . He told Mrs.Pruphery that he need to do a surgery of tricki but actually he just put tricki on the diet by just giving him water to drink .
Mrs.Pruphery being concerned about tricki use to send tricki's favourite food and egg ,brandy many more.
This show that Mr.Herriot didn't need to do anything but Mrs.Pruphery did by her own. She was just concerned and pampered her dog a lot that made him lazy . She just needed to stop all this but she could so she asked doctor it just helped her in this .
