When these weavers were not in a position to give the garments on time then these gomasthas, who used to come with a sepoy, start beating and torturing weavers. The weavers were given very less time to complete their work and so the clashes held between Indian weavers and gomasthas. The gomasthas used to behave very arrogantly and punish the weavers for delay.
