Diary Entry - Surviving the 2004 Tsunami

26th December, 2004

Woke up to a beautiful morning, looking forward to spending the day with my family.

Had breakfast and was getting ready to head out to the beach when the ground started shaking.

At first, I thought it was an earthquake, but it didn't stop.

The Tsunami Strikes

Within minutes, the water level started rising, and before we knew it, we were knee-deep in water.

People were screaming, and chaos ensued as we tried to run to higher ground.

The water was rising fast, and we were being swept away by the strong current.

The Aftermath

After what felt like an eternity, the water started to recede, and we were left battered and bruised on a pile of debris.

Everything around us was destroyed, and we had lost everything we owned.

We spent the next few days searching for our loved ones and trying to come to terms with what had happened.

Moving Forward

It's been months since the tsunami, and we're slowly trying to rebuild our lives.

It's not easy, but we're grateful for every day we're alive and for the people who have helped us along the way.
