When iron nails are dipped in aqueous solution of copper sulphate, ions of iron nails displaces the ions of copper sulphate as iron is more reactive than copper. The amount of copper displaced is equal to amount of iron dissolved and therefore iron nails do not get completely dissolved in the solution.
