Given Information:
- Two years ago, Dilip was three times as old as his son.
- Two years hence, twice his age will be equal to five times that of his son.

Let's assume:
- Present age of Dilip = D
- Present age of his son = S

Formulating the equations:
1. Two years ago, Dilip was three times as old as his son:
D - 2 = 3(S - 2) (Equation 1)
2. Two years hence, twice his age will be equal to five times that of his son:
D + 2 = 2(S + 2)
D + 2 = 2S + 4
D = 2S + 2 (Equation 2)

Solving the equations:
Substitute Equation 2 into Equation 1:
2S + 2 - 2 = 3(S - 2)
2S = 3S - 6
S = 6
Substitute S = 6 into Equation 2:
D = 2(6) + 2
D = 14

Therefore, the present age of Dilip is 14 years.

Let 2 years ago D and S have their age in be in ratio 3x:x (given)
then D's present age shall be 3x+2 and S's present age be x+2
now 2 years hence D and S ages will be (3x+2)+2 =3x+4 and (x+2)+2=x+4 respectively.
we are given 2(3x+4)=5(x+4)
6x+8=5x+20
x=12
hence present age of Ð( or DILIP) is 3x+2=3×12+2=38 ans
