A series motor runs at 600rpm when taking 110 A from 250 V supply. The...
Given Data:
- Speed at 110 A: 600 rpm
- Current at 110 A: 110 A
- Voltage: 250 V
- Armature resistance: 0.12 ohm
- Series winding resistance: 0.03 ohm
- Useful flux at 120 A: 0.024 Wb
- Useful flux at 50 A: 0.0155 Wb

Calculations:
1. Calculate the back EMF at 110 A:
Back EMF = V - Ia * Ra
Back EMF = 250 - 110 * 0.12
Back EMF = 250 - 13.2
Back EMF = 236.8 V
2. Calculate the speed at 50 A:
Back EMF at 50 A = 236.8 V (as calculated above)
Voltage drop in armature circuit = Ia * Ra
Voltage drop in armature circuit = 50 * 0.12
Voltage drop in armature circuit = 6 V
Voltage across series winding = 250 - 6
Voltage across series winding = 244 V
Flux per pole at 50 A = 0.0155 Wb (given)
New speed = (Back EMF at 50 A) / (Flux per pole at 50 A)
New speed = 236.8 / 0.0155
New speed = 15277.42 rpm

Conclusion:
The speed of the series motor when the current has fallen to 50 A is approximately 15277.42 rpm.
